The activity was a comprehensive workshop on digital literacy, with a specific focus on cyber safety and awareness. It featured a guest lecture from a SubInspector who explained the real-world threats of cybercrime and provided practical measures for self-protection.
In this activity, I played the role of a Cyber Crime Officer in the skit performed by my class. My character’s purpose was to be the voice of authority and guidance, stepping into the scenario to explain the scam that had occurred, educate the victim (and by extension, the audience) on how to identify such frauds, and spread awareness about the correct steps to take, such as reporting the crime to the relevant authorities.
I learned that reporting cybercrime is not just about getting your money back; it’s a civic duty that helps authorities track and stop criminals, protecting others.
This activity builds a secure digital society by creating a base of aware citizens who can safely use digital services, boosting the digital economy and egovernance. It fosters collective responsibility by transforming the public from potential victims into a vigilant “human firewall.” This shared vigilance lightens the load on law enforcement and strengthens our national digital infrastructure, making the entire nation more resilient.
I will be more cautious with every link I click, every app I download, and every message I receive, especially those asking for personal information. I will share the key takeaways from this workshop with my family and friends to help protect them as well.
